Save the Date – The Way We Work is Back September 14

The Way We Work is a new series that examines the future of work and the implications for the business community and individuals in a time of changing demographics, growing technology, and increasing globalization. Created in partnership by Antenna and the Carlson School of Management, The Way We Work brings together thought leaders, companies, and individual workers for dynamic dialogue around relevant topics.

Move over millennials – this long-maligned group is giving way to Gen Z. Our fall session, on September 14, will focus on the impending generational shift and the implications it has on our working lives. How will this next generation transform the workplace? We’ve got Jonah Stillman, generational expert and Gen Zer himself to present his insights for leaders and what Gen Z will mean to the future of work. Born between 1995 and 2012, and at 72.8 million strong, Gen Z is about to make its presence known in the workplace in a major way—and employers need to understand the differences that set them apart. They’re radically different than the Millennials, and yet no one seems to be talking about them—until now. This generation has an entirely unique perspective on careers and how to succeed in the workforce.

On September 14, Stillman will give a brief overview of the research and insights on Gen Z, before a more interactive conversation with Brendon Schrader, followed by time for questions from the audience.

Each attendee will receive a copy of Jonah and David Stillman’s book, Gen Z @ Work: How the Next Generation Is Transforming the Workplace. Based on the first national studies of Gen Z’s workplace attitudes; interviews with hundreds of CEOs, celebrities, and thought leaders on generational issues; cutting-edge case studies; and insights from Gen Zers themselves, Gen Z @ Work offers the knowledge today’s leaders need to get ahead of the next gaps in the workplace and how best to recruit, retain, motivate, and manage Gen Zers. Ahead of the curve, Gen Z @ Work is the first comprehensive, serious look at what the next generation of workers looks like, and what that means for the rest of us.

Save the date and learn more about the upcoming event Friday, September 14, on Carlson’s webpage. Registration is now open, and each ticket includes a copy of the book.

Jonah Stillman graduated from high school in 2017 and is pursuing a life as an entrepreneur. Growing up, for 10-years Jonah competed on the national US circuit in snowboarding. He was ranked in the top 5 in the US before hanging up his helmet to pursue working with his Dad, generational expert David Stillman, in the generational field. Jonah and a team of peers conducted one of the first national surveys about Gen Z’s workplace attitudes. The eye-opening results ignited Jonah’s interest in keeping the dialogue going. After growing up watching his dad be the voice of his generation, Jonah is excited to be a voice of Gen Z. He is the youngest speaker on the circuit and has already shared his insights on Gen Z with CNBC, MSNBC, and CBS and was recently featured in Fast Company, TIME, INC, Forbes and the NY Times. Success Magazine voted David and Jonah in the top 25 most influential speakers and authors for 2018.
